A Gambling Gambler

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I recently came across a story which was actually discussing gamblers, it was not just casino gamblers but people that were getting addicted to any type of gambling such as casinos and scratch cards. But there was one person who I read about who gambled literally everything he owned, but the amazing thing was, was that when he was on the brink of losing it all he somehow got it back.

The story began in his early twenties, he was recently married and planned to also have kids. Him and his close friend on the night of his 21st birthday decided to visit the local casino to play a game of roulette. The guy concluded up winning around one thousand. Personally I have always said that it is not a good thing to win the first time you play, simply because it programs your mind to think that you are always going to win.

Well moving on, this guy as mentioned above thought he was going to win every single time, so he ended up going to the casino numerous times a week. Although he started off on a good foot, he was slowly slowly beginning to lose his money. When the money begun to finish, he downgraded his vehicle to pay for more gambling and then ended up selling it to raise more money to gamble. This was really the crucial moment for his partner who left him and this stage.

But for months this guy continued to gamble his money, until one final push helped him win back all of his money. He sold his house to raise these funds and took a vast risk which paid off. But just imagine it didn’t pay off? He would be homeless without nothing to look forward too, so you should forever gamble reasonably.

One of the better gambling games in the planet has to be online pokerand games of betfair poker and absolute poker there is so much fun to be had from playing a game of poker.

Improve Your Blackjack Game with These Five Simple Rules

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Here are a few blackjack tips that we hope you’ll find useful.

1.  Use basic blackjack strategy - because it reduces the house edge to less than 1%.  Of course, the house edge will be lowered to that level only if you are flawless in the use of basic blackjack strategy.

2.  Play at blackjack tables where the dealer must stand on all 17s.  This reduces the house edge a little - compared to situations where the dealer hits soft 17, which actually increases the house advantage.

3.  If you don’t know how to use the insurance bet, don’t attempt use it – it’s one of the worst at the blackjack table.  It may seem like a good bet in the beginning, but once you really think about it and calculate a few numbers, there’s too much of an edge against you, so stay far away from it.

4.  Play against as few decks as possible.  It’s always at your advantage to do this.

5.  Don’t be greedy. One thing that can destroy you when gambling is greed.  When playing blackjack you should set limits for yourself and set aside a certain amount to gamble and once you’ve lost that, head for the exit.  Don’t get sucked in, thinking that if you play long enough you’ll win back the money you have lost – it never usually works that way.  Think similarly when you’re winning.  If you have won a certain amount and you’re above what you have set aside for the night, simply put it in your pocket and forget it for the rest of the night.  That way, you might surprise yourself in the end.

Hopefully you’ve found these blackjack tips useful. If you haven’t already done it, you should try playing blackjack at your favorite online casino.  Some selections would be Blackjack Double, Blackjack Counting or Blackjack Charts.

The Roulette Table: How To Turn The Table’s Odds Your Way…

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Roulette is often said to be the casual casino player’s game of choice. It’s quite easy to walk up to the roulette table and simply place a bet - at the roulette table, no one is typically sitting down, and there is no maximum number of players - so it’s almost as though you’re always welcome at the roulette table. Additionally, it’s an easy-paced casino game that just about anyone can learn the basics of by just watching a few spins.

The game of roulette is a negative expectation one - i.e. over the long run you are expected to lose. Here are a few things you should know in order to at least get better looking odds than anyone else at the roulette table. On American roulette tables, all bets calculate out to the same house edge of 5.25%. The single exception to this rule is the 5-number bet, which has an even worse edge of 7.29%.

How then can you get better odds? Here are a few tips:

1. Keep an eye out for is a rule called ‘surrender’. Surrender is available at many casinos. The rule only applies to outside even money bets, and it doesn’t affect the edge of your whole session. This rule simply cuts your losses in half in the instance of a green pocket hitting. So if you’re betting an even money outside bet and a double zero or zero hits, you only lose half of your bet, not the entire thing. This of course pulls the house edge on outside even money bets down to 2.63%, which is definitely a lot better.

2. Look out for the single zero roulette wheel, i.e. the European roulette wheel. A European roulette wheel has a single zero pocket, and no double zero. There are only a total of 37 pockets left on the wheel, which does cut the casino house edge. This small and subtle shift lowers the house edge on all bets (not just the outside even money ones) to 2.70%. Very very nice.

Hopefully you’ve found our roulette information useful. If you haven’t already done it, you should try playing roulette at your favorite online casino via sites like: Online Roulette Poker, Online Roulette Games or Online Roulette Gambling.

Beat Your Gambling Addiction By Beating the Casinos at Their Own Game

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

As an online casino player, would you want to lose money by using those so called “winning systems”? No doubt there might be some winning systems that might work. But not in the long run. The fact is that the player will eventually lose due to the percentage house edge which favors the casino. Online gambling can still be fun!

I won’t use any winning systems but will instead use my programming knowledge to profit from the online casinos due to one main advantage to a player. That will be the ?bonus? given upon deposit for new players.

The 1st thing you need to remember about my strategy (not craps strategy) is that your earnings will depend on how dedicated you are to following the system and not your instincts. Understand that the odds are in the casinos favor, but by following my strategy to perfection you will decrease the casino’s edge. Treat your blackjack gaming like a part-time job and you will make an average of $90 or more per casino you play. You should easily be able to play one casino a night.

The basic idea behind the strategy is bonus hunting. Bonus hunting is basically where you take advantage of all the bonus money the casino’s give away to attract players to their online casinos. Most casinos will match your deposit dollar for dollar up to to a certain amount. Play your favorite game - roulette, casino keno, casino poker games, casino slot machine games, etc. - courtesy of good bonus hunting.  There is no shortage of online casinos that offer (sometimes highly attractive) deposit or first deposit bonuses.  So take advantage of them and be on your way to earning some good dollars today.  You will be amazed as to how easy it can be to earn some excellent part-time dollars using this strategy in an online casino.

Improve Your Video Poker Game

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Of all the hands dealt in video poker only 21% are winning hands. The remainder, which is 79%, are losers. The smart video poker player knows what he must do with about 70% of the hands dealt so that it can become a winning hand.

There are some effective video poker tips in this article. When building your own video poker strategy be sure to follow these tips. A good strategy will increases your odds of winning in online video poker or offline video poker. Find a machine that pays out nine for a full house win and six for a flush win. It’s very important! Find and play on a video poker machine with the lowest wager possible if you are new to video poker.

Before playing on the higher wager machines wait until you have more experience. A good trick is to verbalize every hand you get. Remember you’re not playing against another person, the machine doesn’t care if you are “playing too slow.” Take your time, be sure about your next move before you take it. Many new players fall to recognize that the Jack is the most important hand in the deck. Unlike traditional poker where the Ace is king (so to speak) A Jack provides you with many more hands than a Ace does.

The varieties of video poker you can play are almost endless, but they all have their own pay tables that require specific strategies. The best way to start is to limit your choices to two. The best way to improve your game is by playing on your computer or at online casino using play money. If you train this way, you get to practice your skills risk free.

Here are some basic video poker strategy tips:

1. Don’t ever hold a joker with your pair. This reduces your payout by 5%

2. If you can get a Royal Flush by drawing 3 cards do not Draw 4.

3. Always stay on a winning five-card hand except in a case where you can get a royal flush with one card.

4. Never break a flush to draw a straight flush even with one draw.

5. Always break a flush to draw a royal flush.

6. Don’t break a straight to draw for a straight flush.

7. Don’t draw five, if you’re holding a 5 or better.

8. Never leave a ten on a four card draw. And the main tip: control you bankroll. Video poker and every other gambling games should be considered entertainment. I know that Lady Luck comes to players who enjoy video poker.

Improve Your Craps Game by Understanding The Odds Against You

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

At a glance, the game of craps may look complicated, but in actuality it is really quite simple. Here’s a simple craps game flow for you to grasp:

If the come-out roll is a 7 or 11 (which craps rules label a natural) the don’t pass loses and the pass line wins. The shooter (person rolling the dice) has another chance to set a point and rolls another come out roll immediately. If the come-out roll is a 2, 3, or 12 (called ‘craps’) the don’t pass line wins, or ties and the pass line loses. The don’t pass bet is a tie when the come-out roll is a 12. The shooter once again gets another chance to set a point. In order to pass the dice along the shooter must first set a point, and then ‘7-out’ by hitting a seven before he/she hits the point number again.

If the come-out roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 then that number becomes known as the ‘point’. The dealers will then place a little puck with the word ‘ON’ written on it and put it on top of the number that is the ‘point’ on the layout. This is just to remind players that the session is on, and what the point number is. Before the dealer did this, the puck would have been just off the table with the ‘OFF’ side up. Any don’t pass line or pass line bets at this point are in a state of limbo, waiting for more action to determine their outcome. Do you have a craps strategy? We’ll discuss this further soon.

The shooter will keep rolling until one of 2 things happen: if they roll the number that they had set to the point (i.e. they made the point) the don’t pass bettors lose and the pass line bettors win. If a 7 is rolled before the point number is rolled (which is called 7-out), the winners are the reverse: don’t pass bettors win and pass line bettors lose. In both instances, the round is over. How’s that for simple craps game play.

If you haven’t already done it, you should try playing craps at your favorite online casino.  Check out Desert Diamond Casino Tucson, Desert Diamond Hotel Casino or Deuces Wild Poker for more information and free craps software downloads.

How To Become a Better Caribbean Stud Poker Player

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Does a Caribbean stud poker strategy exist that will make the house’s edge reasonable?  Unfortunately, the answer is no unless the jackpot is at a high level.  To explain further…  Caribbean stud Poker offers a sizable house advantage of over 5% - not in terms of cards but by way of the betting structure.  The fact that you MUST bet three times in order to stay in a hand definitely does not help your advantage.  The times that the dealer does not qualify (44% of the tim), you only win your ante - which in most instances isn’t very much. On the other hand, if you decide to fold, you lose your ante and the round is over.

For Caribbean stud poker, there is no room for ‘dumb’ play - the house edge is already high enough to take care of that.  Despite the overwhelming house advantage, there are a few little things that you can do to better your odds, here we go:

1. Always fold if you hold nothing.
2. If the setting isn’t right, don’t make the bet.
3. Always make the bet with a pair of better.
4. If you hold ace-king, make the bet if one of your other three cards matches the dealer’s up card.
5. Make the bet if you hold ace-king-queen or ace-king-jack when the dealer’s up card is any of your five cards.

Most all online casinos now offer you a free bonus deposits. Some are known as sign-up bonuses, here if you deposit a certain amount of money the casino will match it the first time (up to a set limit) these types of bonuses tend to stay in the hundreds of dollars. Past types of free money amounts can be anything from 20 - 50 dollars, and even much more depending on your sign-up deposit - so be sure to cut out good online casino reviews.

Caribbean stud poker is typically available at your favorite online casino. It and other casino favorites such as the slots and roulette can be played directly online. Try it for yourself if you haven’t already via sites like Full PC Games, Full PC Game Downloads or Full House Quizzes.

Every Day We Gamble, So Why is Playing Poker so Different

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

There is a some what black cloud over people that visit casinos or play online poker, they are seen as some what addicts to the world and people look at them like they have no families or friends, because they have pushed them all away by gambling their money.

But is this really what is true? Gamblers in my mind are just like any other folk but with a hobby, I mean you would not think badly about some one that plays golf, or goes swimming so why think in a negative way about some one that wants to play a bit of gambling?

I mean every one gambles, whether you like it or not you in most situations gamble at least twice a day if not more. So let us take a took at everyday gambling habit crimes that people are commiting on a daily basis.

1) Every time you step outside and drive the vehicle or cross the road you are gambling with your life, no one knows what is around the corner
2) Whenever you purchase something to eat you are gambling with your cash, especially if it is somewhere that you have not eaten before. I literally mean how many times have you had to eat awful tasting food in a restaurant that you have paid money for?
3) As a matter of fact whenever you want to buy something such as a car you are gambling with your hard earned cash. What's there to say that when you hand over 3k for a car a few weeks later it will just break down on you.

So the next time that you throw insults at gamblers take a moment to remember that you probably do it every day.
